Recommended Settings for Artists

Parsec for Teams connects artists to their workstation better than anything out there. We  know artists need exactly the right display: precise color, crisp text, and highly detailed rendering. Here’s every setting artists need to know.

Constant FPS Mode
Recommended Setting: On

Fix the frame rate of a stream (usually 60FPS). Static screens, images, and documents maintain crisp details even when they aren’t in motion.

Artists using Parsec should enable constant FPS mode. Switch it off only when reviewing animation, connecting to a game, or playing back video.

4:4:4 Color Mode
Recommended Setting: On and Enable h.265

Removes color subsampling from your stream to improve color fidelity across the board. It’s noticeable everywhere, but especially when looking at high contrast images.

It’s only available on Nvidia hosts running GTX 900/1000 and RTX 2000 and their respective Quadra cards.

*Note: 4:4:4 Color Mode works best when using the H.265 codec. Be sure to select “Prefer H.265” in the codec menu for optimal performance.

Bandwidth Limit
Recommended Setting: 25Mbps

Adjusting bandwidth is one of the best ways to increase video fidelity. Parsec defaults to 10Mbps, but with speedy internet, adjusting up to 25-30Mbps can help quite a bit. You can also lower your bandwidth usage by selecting H.265 as your preferred codec.

Dual Stream Settings
Recommended Setting: Parity

Run up to two Parsec streams at the same time, simulating multiple monitors. Each carries its own unique video settings. We recommend the same settings across both monitors for artists. Keep ‘em the same.
