Home PC Hosting - Black Screen Issue

I tested Parsec a while back and it worked well. Time passed, moved to new house and keen to set it up again.

I've installed and enabled hosting on my home Windows 10 (v1803) PC and am trying to access from work.

It connects but I'm getting a black screen. To help debug, I connected using Team Viewer at the same time and can see some interactions in Parsec work, like mouse right clicks.

To help explain my settings and situation, I screen captured my work computer connecting with Team Viewer (on the left) and Parsec (on the right). You can see my Parsec settings and how the right click action works.

  • Hey. Is the 1080 plugged into your monitor directly through HDMI or is it through another set up?

  • GPU connected directly to monitor using DisplayPort cable

  • Do you have an HDMI cord? Do you mind humoring me and plugging that into the GPU and the primary monitor to see if it fixes the issue?

  • HDMI cable works. Why would that be?

  • Is it possible that the DisplayPort is actually going through your motherboard? In that case, the video is potentially being shipped to be drawn on your screen through the CPU. I'm not 100% sure, but I've seen it before. It's actually probably better for you to use the HDMI from the GPU generally.
